It has worked in this field for 17 years and has been an expert in compliance since 2009. It also helps clients with sustainability planning and carbon offset purchases.

The company serves flight departments, aircraft management companies, flight planning providers, sustainability teams and carbon offset project developers. It works with aircraft operators both big and small. It says it acts as an extension of the client's own team and runs a turnkey service.

Its compliance work covers the EU ETS, the UK ETS and the Swiss ETS. For these schemes, the company writes procedures and methods, monitors emissions, completes annual reports and finds the verifier. It keeps a flight department compliant as the rules change. It can also act as the authorized representative, open a carbon trading account, and buy and surrender carbon credits for the client.

Shockwave Aviation also sells carbon offsets, also called carbon credits. Clients can pick a project from a range of types sourced in North America and around the world.
