Select Aviation Training Center

Select Aviation College was founded in 2012. It operates at the Gatineau-Ottawa Executive Airport in Canada's National Capital Region. This region has a population of over 1.5 million and attracts thousands of students from across Canada and around the world each year.

The college states that its mission is to provide airlines with a new generation of industry-ready pilots upon graduation. Students train with qualified instructors while facing the four Canadian seasons and diverse weather conditions throughout the year.

The fleet includes more than 40 single and multi-engine training aircraft. The college says it fully owns this fleet. Airplanes include the Cessna 150, Cessna 172, Cessna 180 amphibious, Cessna 185 amphibious, and Piper Seminole glass cockpit models. Helicopters include the Robinson R44 and Bell 505.

The college operates three ALSIM simulators including one ALX and two AL-250 devices. These simulators are approved by Transport Canada and support training on modules for the Cessna 172, Piper PA-44, and generic turbo prop aircraft such as the King Air 200.

Training programs include the integrated Airline Transport Pilot Licence, commercial pilot airplane, bush pilot, and commercial helicopter pathways. The college also offers modular and continuing education courses. These include private pilot licence, seaplane training, flight instructor rating, instrument flight rules renewal, pilot licence conversion, and additional helicopter ratings.

The student body represents more than 35 different countries. The college is recognized by Quebec and Ontario student loan programs. It offers information on student accommodation and medical insurance. The college also participates in a pilot mentoring program with Porter Airlines.

Select Aviation College is a Transport Canada recognized flight training unit and an examination centre. It maintains a Robinson service centre. The maintenance staff performs duties in accordance with approved procedures to ensure the continued safety of the aircraft and pilots.
