Sarasota Avionics and Maintenance is a Florida avionics and maintenance company with its headquarters at Venice Municipal Airport (KVNC), 120 Airport Ave West, Venice. It has served general aviation for more than 35 years and employs more than 70 people across five FAA certified repair stations in the state. Kirk Fryar is President. The company's Cirrus service center is at Sarasota Bradenton International Airport (KSRQ), 8191 N. Tamiami Trail, on the Dolphin Aviation ramp, where TJ Spitzmiller is General Manager and Sawyer McCraw is Maintenance Manager.

Cirrus services

The company's website says its KSRQ facility became an authorized Cirrus service center in 2024, after the maintenance department expanded into a second hangar (Hangar B-6, next to the avionics shop in Hangar B-2). The station works under FAA repair station certificate QV0R957X. The company has been at Sarasota Bradenton since the early 1980s. Cirrus Aircraft's locator lists the following:

Avionics

Avionics is the company's main business. The KSRQ shop handles avionics sales, installation, troubleshooting, bench repair, IFR and VFR recertifications, wiring harnesses and custom panels, and in-house autopilot repair (S-TEC, Bendix King and Century systems). The company is an authorized warranty service center for Garmin, Avidyne, Aspen, Appareo, Bendix King, Genesys Aerosystems, Electronics International, JP Instruments, L3, Mid-Continent, PS Engineering and RC Allen. Company-wide capabilities include RVSM installation and testing, pitot static checks, ELT, TCAS, EFIS panel upgrades, TAWS, radar and GPS/FMS work.

Maintenance and other locations

General maintenance covers annual and 50/100 hour inspections, pre-purchase evaluations, oil changes, propeller balancing, Corrosion-X treatment, oxygen and nitrogen service, detailing and paint correction. The Venice headquarters has three hangars totalling 24,000 square feet, an interiors shop and an authorized Mooney service center. Other stations are at Palm Beach County Park Airport (KLNA), Charlotte County Airport (KPGD) and Peter O. Knight Airport (KTPF) in Tampa, which is a separate Cirrus service center with its own page in this directory. Hours at KSRQ are Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
