Salient Motion

Salient Motion designs, makes and supports electromechanical actuation systems for commercial and military aircraft. The address given is Hawthorne, California, and the text says the work is made in Southern California. A structured record gives 2022 as the founding year.

The company says single-source suppliers have long dominated the actuation market with high prices, long lead times and little support. It offers certified actuators with competitive pricing and direct support for OEMs and MROs. It says it can deliver actuator systems in weeks instead of quarters.

Its approach is built on software and certification. Core motor control software is developed and certified to DO-178C as a reusable library. Platform settings are kept apart as Parameter Data Items, so new actuator variants need less new work. The design allows linear and rotary actuators, several motor types and different sensors.

The news section lists items from 2026. These include the launch of Saginaw Precision to make precision ball screws, a first production contract, and a plan with Boeing to certify modular actuators for commercial airliners. Earlier items cover funding rounds.

The company lists a leadership team that includes Vishaal Mali as chief executive officer. The website has pages for commercial and defense work, a factory tour, a supplier page with a quality manual and terms, a careers page, and a contact form for sales, partnerships and press.
