History and company
Saft was the first company to manufacture nickel and lithium-ion batteries in France. It became part of CGE in the late 1920s, later Alcatel Alsthom, was sold by Alcatel to Doughty Hanson in 2004 and listed on Euronext Paris, and joined TotalEnergies in 2016. The company renewed its EcoVadis Platinum medal for 2025 and targets a 4 percent annual reduction in CO2 emissions. Customers use the Saft4U portal for products, documents and services.
