Orqa

Orqa d.o.o. is a Croatian company that develops First Person View (FPV) and Remote Reality technology. It was founded in late 2018 by Srdjan Kovacevic, Ivan Jelusic and Vlatko Matijevic and is based in Osijek, where development and production take place. Its stated mission is to become the number one technology provider for FPV and advanced Remote Reality applications through next generation vision systems.

The company presented the prototype of its FPV.One video goggles for racing and freestyle pilots at CES in Las Vegas in January 2019. A Kickstarter campaign for the goggles followed in June, which sold more than 600 pairs, and in May 2020 Orqa released a connectivity add-on for DVR access and live streaming of flights.

Team

Orqa says it has more than 150 employees, among them engineers in embedded and mobile software, electronics, radio frequency, mechanical and optical fields, plus physicists, assembly technicians and sales and marketing staff. It gives the average age of the team as 26. The technology pipeline covers antennas, radio controllers, headsets and low latency video transport systems.

Products and platforms

• MRM1-5, a multi-role tactical trainer and dual-use platform made in the EU, with a carbon fibre reinforced frame and a payload capacity of 1 kg over 7 km
• MRM2-10, a payload drone that the company says is NDAA compliant, carries up to 3.5 kg and offers an electronic warfare resilient control link
• H7 WingCore, an NDAA compliant fixed-wing flight controller
• A drone detection product, a drone soccer product and an FPV simulator
• FPV equipment such as goggles, radio links, video transmitters and a power meter for testing control and video links

Software support

The company lists support for Ardupilot, iNav, Betaflight and PX4 firmware, MAVLINK support and ATAK integration on its tactical platforms. Its products carry EU manufacturing as a selling point, and it has used EU financial instruments for the internationalisation of its solutions and for development testing of products such as the Microdron and the BodyCam.
