Numalliance

Numalliance is a French group that manufactures CNC machines for bending, cutting and end forming of metal wire, tube and flat stock. Founded in 1986 as Macsoft, it grew through a series of acquisitions and a 2003 merger of three companies that created the Numalliance name. Group headquarters and much of its development are in Saint-Michel-sur-Meurthe, in the Vosges region of France, and its automated machines and work cells are built in France, the USA and Mexico.

The group sells worldwide through ten subsidiaries and technical sales offices, in the USA, Mexico, China, India, Slovakia, Germany, Brazil and Romania, plus a network of 40 agents. It names automotive, aeronautics, agriculture and construction among the sectors that use its machines, and says a third of its employees work in engineering and research and development.

Milestones

The company launched its first CNC wire bending machine, the F series, in 1986, and the ROBOMAC series in 1989. Its own control software, Touch & Form, followed in 2005. Robotic cells arrived in 2017, including one cell that integrates ten robots, and in 2024 it introduced what it calls a world first, a bending cell with fully automated tooling change. It also upgraded the Eaton Leonard VB bending machines in 2020 and gave the TULIP machine a fully digital version in 2022. Eaton Leonard was acquired in 2020.

Services

Numalliance states that 13,000 machines and automated work cells are in service worldwide, supported by about 450 people at 15 locations. Services include initial training, maintenance, part program optimisation, feasibility studies for new parts, relocation and retrofitting of machines, remote diagnostics, tooling design, and genuine spare parts held at several sites.
