Breton
5-axis gantry machining centres and large-format 3D printers from Italy
About Breton
Breton is an Italian maker of advanced machinery, industrial plants and software. It designs and builds machining centres, production lines and stand-alone machines for processing stone and other materials.
The company works in four business areas. These are machine tools, stone and ceramic, mineral surface and additive manufacturing. Its machines process natural stone, marble, granite, quartz, ceramic, heavy clay, mineral surface materials, resins, foams, polymers and metals. It also builds machines for additive manufacturing.
Breton supplies plants and machinery for compound stone slabs and blocks. It says it has drawn on more than 120 industrial projects worldwide. It also offers software suites and production process management platforms. These can connect to older systems and help control machines and plants. Its Jarvis platform for knowledge and work management won a SMAU Innovation award in 2024.
In additive manufacturing, Breton works with large 3D printers. One story on its pages describes the use of recycled biocomposites made from organic fibres and bio-based polymers. Another describes a fully 3D printed kitchen island. A customer story tells how a Swedish electric boat maker uses Breton technology to make precise parts for its boats.
Service is a major part of the business. Breton handles installation, start-up and training. Technicians check that the machine reaches the performance the customer expects, then train the operators and provide manuals or digital content. Training can also take place at the company's head office. Maintenance is provided through 45 service centres worldwide that act as authorised technical service providers. Remote diagnostics are used where possible, so that local repairs go faster.
The company also runs the Breton Institute of Technology and welcomes research and education projects. It holds open days with live demonstrations, such as the Dekora Demo Days. Customers can ask for technical support for machining centres that process metals, composites, polymers, resins and foams, as well as for stone, ceramic and engineered stone equipment.
