NewOrbit Space

NewOrbit Space Ltd is a space technology company based in Reading, UK. It was founded in 2021. It designs and builds satellites for Very Low Earth Orbit.

The site says its NEO-1 satellite is the first satellite capable of sustained operation in Very Low Earth Orbit. It says the satellites fly at one-third the altitude of conventional satellites. The site says this allows sharper imagery.

The site lists uses for the satellites. These include Earth observation imagery, direct-to-device connectivity and weather forecasting. It says the lower altitude may support higher data throughput.

The site says NEO-1 is designed to be debris no-cost. It says satellites vanish within a month once decommissioned. The propulsion system is designed for five years of very low orbit flight.

The company says it has booked a launch slot in Q3 2028 for its first customer mission. The site also describes its tailor-made attitude control and materials.

The About page lists advisers. They include a former Director General of the European Space Agency, a NASA JPL fellow and senior research scientist, and a former commander of Joint Forces Command.

The site lists a press inquiries contact and a LinkedIn page. It has a careers section and a news section.
