Multiplast

Multiplast is a Vannes, Brittany company that has designed and manufactured high-performance composite structures since 1981, part of the Carboman group. For more than 45 years it has built competition sailing boats with a record including Atlantic records, the Jules Verne Trophy, the Route du Rhum and the Volvo Ocean Race, and it now offers that expertise to contractors in aeronautics, space, defence, industry and civil engineering, supporting customers from design to production, installation, testing and maintenance of composite parts for prototypes and small and medium production runs, with 120 employees and customers in Germany, Italy, Japan, the United States and the Middle East.

Aeronautics and space

• Aeronautics and space accounted for 15 percent of business in 2025 and is growing through launch vehicle fairings, aerostructure components and jet engine test bench air intakes
• Aerostructures including fuselages of the Alice electric aircraft developed by Eviation, wings of the Aarok tactical drone for Turgis & Gaillard, made in a single out-of-autoclave cure at 135 degrees C with integrated stiffeners and NCAMP-certified pre-impregnated carbon, and 17 metre floats to convert ATR 72s into amphibious water bombers for Positive Aviation
• Four launch vehicle fairings for a new European launcher company in Germany, using out-of-autoclave co-curing to join the cork heat shield and outer skin in one step, withstanding close to 400 degrees C during re-entry
• Engineering to FAA, EASA and DGAC standards

Defence and industry

• Antennas, radars, radomes, sonars, acoustic windows and drones
• Flight simulator domes of 7.5 metres in carbon/Nomex sandwich for Thales Training & Simulation, built in two parts for precision and easier assembly, and driving simulators
• Masts, rigid sails, fairings and hoods for the decarbonisation of maritime transport, plus domes, bulbs, beams and roofing elements for civil engineering

Company

Multiplast works with four composite processes, is ISO 9001 certified by Bureau Veritas and holds the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant label, with values of commitment, proximity to clients often present on site, and team spirit. Its sailing work covers Ultim and Ocean Fifty trimarans, AC50 catamarans, AC75 monohulls and cruising multihulls. The company publishes a newsletter and shares news on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.
