MPP

MPP is a Belgian company that carries out non-destructive testing and precision deburring and polishing for aerospace and industrial customers. Its plant and laboratory are in Herstal, near Liège, Belgium.

The company went through an industrial transformation in 2019. It now offers four services. These are NDT training, NDT production and expertise, NDT on-site support, and deburring and polishing. It also certifies inspectors in NDT methods at levels 1, 2 and 3.

MPP has a wide set of inspection tools at its Liège-area site. For digital radiography, it uses a 320 kV generator in a shielded cabin, with a 0.2 mm micro-focus tube and flat panel detectors that resolve from 50 to 200 micrometres. A mobile 150 kV generator allows digital radiography at customer sites. Other methods include magnetic inspection on a latest generation bench, eddy current testing, electrostatic fluorescent penetrant inspection, phased array ultrasonic inspection and thermography with a highly sensitive camera.

The team includes level 2 and level 3 inspectors. MPP can send inspectors and portable equipment to a customer's site. This gives temporary support, or expert checks on large or critical parts. The company has also worked on computed tomography for aircraft parts and on a digital laboratory for composites.

The company holds ISO 9001 and an aerospace quality certification. Safran has also approved MPP as a supplier. MPP says it keeps improving its processes and checks its work closely. It describes four values: customer care, precision, flexibility and quality.

MPP takes part in Belgian aerospace and industrial research projects, and it looks for new national and European markets. Its partners and customers include Safran, Sabca, Sabena Aerospace, Sonaca, FN Herstal, Atlas Copco, Dardenne, HTM Precision, Revima, Sobelcomp and X-RIS.
