LOMA-AIR

Loma Air is an aircraft engine and component maintenance company in Heist-op-den-Berg, Belgium. It was founded in 1979 and is still family owned. It overhauls and repairs piston engines and sells engine parts and accessories.

The company says it has more than 40 years of experience in engine overhaul, shock load inspection and repair. It can also serve N-registered, FAA approved engines, and a log entry certification is available on request.

Loma Air is an authorised distributor for major engine brands, including Lycoming, Superior Air Parts and Continental Aerospace Technologies. It says being an authorised distributor for many years gives customers more choice and security. The news section also names it as an official distributor of Tempest induction air filters and Curtis valves.

Parts and accessories include magnetos, carburettors, starters, alternators, fuel injection systems, hoses, spark plugs, control cables, shock mounts and oil. The company says it can supply the complete firewall forward components. It holds a stock of more than 5,000 different parts and sells through a webshop and a sales team.

New facilities opened in Heist-op-den-Berg in 2017. With them, the company says it became one of the largest engine overhaul and repair shops in Europe and even worldwide. Its technicians speak several languages and help customers around the world with technical service every day.

The company's history starts with its founder, who spent about ten years as an aircraft mechanic at Sabena. In 1979 he bought a Cessna 182 with a friend and learned to fly it, and Loma Air began later that year. He died in March 2015. Today a team of 18 runs the company, and all four of his children work there.
