Miltope

Miltope is a US manufacturer of rugged computing, communications and networking equipment for military and aerospace missions in extreme environments, based at 3800 Richardson Road South in Hope Hull, Alabama, with an office in Huntsville. For 50 years the company has designed, developed, manufactured and supported rugged products for OEMs, prime contractors and government agencies, and it also supplies wireless networking equipment for commercial aircraft cabins. Its US-based manufacturing runs under a quality management system with a DCMA-approved government property system.

Commercial aviation networking

• cTWLU cellular terminal wireless LAN unit, a wireless gateway that automates data delivery between an aircraft LAN and ground LAN and is software upgradeable for evolving security and authentication protocols
• nMAP-2 802.11ac multifunction access point with automatic load balancing and interference mitigation for reliable cabin connectivity

Engineering and manufacturing

• Integrated electrical, mechanical, systems and manufacturing engineering from concept and prototype to full-rate production
• Automated functional, vibration and environmental testing, material traceability, inspection and continuous improvement
• Vetted supplier network, programme management, and sustainment, repair, upgrades and spares through RMA and spares request services
