mba Aviation is an aviation advisory firm founded in 1992. The company has worked for financial institutions, airlines, lessors and government agencies around the world for more than thirty years. It has offices in Arlington, Virginia, and Dublin, Ireland, where its technical organization is managed. The company officially rebranded as mba Aviation in 2020.

Asset valuation is the core service. Led by ISTAT certified appraisers, the valuation team appraises commercial aircraft, freighters, business jets, engines, spare parts, helicopters and simulators, including military and special purpose aircraft. mba provides more than 5,000 valuations a year for more than 200 clients.

Each quarter the team publishes current base and market value updates for more than 120 widebody, narrowbody, regional and turboprop aircraft. Engines receive semi annual value updates. Those values feed REDBOOK, a subscription platform and app that gives users access to mba aircraft and engine values and fleet data on web and mobile devices.

mba also values intangible assets, including international routes, landing and departure slots, gates, frequent flyer programs and trademarks. Stock based compensation and business valuations are also part of the work. Its lease review service compares each lease term with industry standard practice and reports on lease rates, return conditions and cash compensation.

Asset management is delivered through FleetWatch, which covers periodic asset inspection and reporting, and complete management of leased assets. That includes monthly oversight of utilization and maintenance, plus rental and maintenance reserve accounting. Technical advisory, forecasting and modeling services cover maintenance cost and timing for assets, fleets and portfolios.

Airline and airport advisory services help clients assess current service, forecast potential service and assess business revenues. mba can also present a case to an airline, airport or investor. Its technical work has a reputation for helping clients make sound decisions.

Aviation safety audits cover fixed wing, rotary wing and unmanned aircraft. The audits are carried out by highly qualified auditors worldwide. The company also offers JumpseatSMS, a safety management system platform. mba says it stays independent and isolates itself from any real or perceived conflict of interest.
