MAB Engineering

Malaysia Airlines Berhad Engineering Services, known as MAB Engineering or MABES, is an aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul company in Malaysia. It is wholly owned by Malaysia Aviation Group. It maintains the group's aircraft and also works for outside customers. Its complex is at Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Sepang, Selangor.

The company says it has done more than 15,000 aircraft hangar maintenance visits in nearly 50 years. Its group fleet includes Malaysia Airlines, Firefly and Amal aircraft. It also serves international airlines and aircraft lessors, and says it has more than 20 airline partners worldwide.

Services include airframe maintenance and heavy checks, line maintenance with 24 hour AOG support at key Malaysian airports, and component repair covering more than 3,000 part numbers for Airbus, Boeing, ATR and Viking aircraft. MABES also gives engineering training, including CAAM certified Part 147 courses. Other services are a calibration lab, component sale, lease and exchange, technical records, technical services and tool and equipment loans.

The company holds 21 regulatory certifications covering Malaysia, Europe and the United States. It aims to grow end to end checks, painting, cabin interior and part out work, mainly for narrow body customers in Asia Pacific. It is also considering more production lines within two years. Managers named on the site include the Chief Operating Officer and heads of operations, quality and safety, and strategy.
