M4 Engineering, Inc.

M4 Engineering is an aerospace engineering firm headquartered in Long Beach, California. The company says it was founded in 2001 and has grown into a national firm. It has more than 50 engineers, four offices in California, Minnesota and Arizona, and more than 500 programs in its history.

M4 offers design and analysis, prototyping and test, composites, systems, research and software services. Its mechanical design work covers airframes, spacecraft, propulsion systems and ground support equipment. The company says its engineers work in NX, CATIA and SOLIDWORKS.

Its structural analysis uses classical hand methods and advanced finite element analysis, from early sizing through certification. Its aero, CFD and thermal work covers flutter and divergence analysis and coupled thermo-structural analysis for flight vehicles.

M4 Structures Studio is the company's tool for full vehicle structural models. The company says it cuts weeks from traditional workflows while keeping the fidelity needed for flight certification. The tool was extended through a NASA Phase III SBIR contract for rotorcraft and eVTOL weight prediction.

M4 builds and tests hardware. Its in-house lab and manufacturing capabilities cover metallic and composite prototypes, tooling, fixtures, CNC machining and welding. Test services include static and fatigue test planning, strain gauge instrumentation, modal testing and test-analysis correlation.

Recent work includes structural design, analysis and composite fabrication for the JetZero blended wing body demonstrator. M4 also worked with Eviation on structural analysis for the Alice all-electric regional aircraft. It did solar-panel thermal analysis for NASA's Ingenuity helicopter, and it supports Bye Aerospace's eFlyer with CFD studies.

M4 is a Siemens Expert Partner, which the website describes as the highest accreditation from Siemens Digital Industries Software. It also resells Siemens products, including NX, Simcenter, Teamcenter and STAR-CCM+. Its Phoenix Technology Works operation holds AS9100D certification for composite manufacturing.
