LOTN

LOTN, or Letecké opravovne Trenčín, is an aircraft repair company in Trenčín, Slovakia. It calls itself a traditional aircraft repair company and says it is the only one of its kind in Slovakia. It serves customers from all over the world.

The company says it has carried out hundreds of repairs and upgrades on military and civil aircraft, helicopters and other equipment. Its main work is repair, overhaul and modernisation. The aircraft it names are Mi-8, Mi-17 and Mi-171 helicopters, L-39 jet trainers and L-410 transport aircraft. It has also been named as an authorised service organisation of the Slovak Ministry of Defence for repair, technical and logistics services on UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters and F-16 fighters.

Aircraft work covers maintenance, repairs and overhauls. The company also has a section for unmanned aerial vehicles and keeps an airport at its site. It services ground equipment, including air, nitrogen and hydraulic equipment.

Several specialist workshops and laboratories support the aircraft work. A metrology laboratory calibrates measuring and control equipment across a defined range of quantities. A tribotechnical laboratory runs a diagnostic system for aircraft engines. A non-destructive testing workplace has trained staff. The surface treatment shop does cadmium plating, anodising, hard chrome plating and zinc phosphating.

Other workshops handle cabin and finish work. The upholstery workshop upholsters and makes special textile parts. The paint shop renovates paint finishes and makes or repairs data plates. The acrylic glass workshop removes, repairs and refits acrylic panels, windows, canopies and laminate covers.
