Liege Cargo Agency

Liege Cargo Agency, also called LCA, is a customs and cargo agency at Liège Airport in Belgium. It provides air cargo services and has worked at the airport since 2002. It says it was the first neutral customs agency at the airport to serve the transport sector.

LCA is a local company with local staff and close ties to the local authorities. It says it has grown over time into a main provider of customs clearance, air cargo supervision, quality control and perishable goods shipping at the airport. It reports more than two decades of experience in freight and logistics. Its warehouse space is spread across three sites.

Customs work has been its specialty since 2002. It covers export and import clearance of general cargo and of e-commerce cargo, including BE-GATE and IOSS. It also covers transit paperwork, temporary storage for 90 days, global fiscal representation and customs advice. It handles temporary import and export and ATA carnet shipments too.

For pharmaceutical shipments, LCA holds Good Distribution Practice certification. It has its own temperature controlled second line warehouse with a refrigerated truck docking zone. This includes a 900 square metre area for PIL COL and a 2,400 square metre area for PIL CRT. LCA offers transport, freight forwarding, handling and storage for medicines and medical devices.

The company also handles perishable goods and live animals. Its staff have IATA training and more than 15 years of experience. They help with veterinary and plant health papers, and with CITES clearance through customs. The team works with horses, exotic species and pets. Perishable cargo can be checked in its own cold storage.

Other services include air freight, road transport, ocean freight, and project cargo that is oversize or heavy. LCA handles artwork, valuables and musical equipment.
