About Air Cargo Forum India

Air Cargo Forum India, or ACFI, is a non-profit air cargo trade body for the whole of India, based in New Delhi. It was set up on 14 September 2012. It brings together all parts of the air cargo logistics chain on one shared platform. Its stated vision is to build an environmentally friendly air logistics industry through innovation and related activities, and to boost the Indian economy through business facilitation.

ACFI says each part of the air cargo trade already had its own body, such as BAR-India for airlines, ACAAI for IATA approved agents, FFFAI for freight forwarders and customs brokers, and APAO for private airports. No single group spoke for the whole trade. ACFI was formed to fill that gap and give the industry one voice with policy makers and regulators.

ACFI was formed by founding members from every segment. They include Delhi International Airport, the cargo terminal operators Celebi Delhi Cargo Terminal Management India and Delhi Cargo Service Center, the freight forwarders Jeena and Company and Skyways Air Services, the airline IndiGo, and DHL Express India.

Members join by invitation. They include airport operators, cargo terminal operators, airlines including non-scheduled operators, freight forwarders, customs brokers, express and freighter operators including authorised couriers, general sales and service agents, bonded air cargo transport operators, domestic air cargo agents including e-commerce operators, and associations of these trades.

ACFI speaks to policy makers on issues that affect air cargo. These include the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Civil Aviation, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation and the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security. It works through four taskforce pillars: event management, skill development, policy advocacy, and knowledge and research. It also has regional chapters in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai and Delhi.

ACFI is an association member of the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry and an affiliate member of The International Air Cargo Association. It publishes a regular e-newsletter and has announced the ACFI World Conclave 2026. In the past it has run awareness programmes for members, such as a workshop on the Goods and Services Tax held in New Delhi in November 2015. The forum says that 30 percent of international trade by value moves by air.
