LAMECO

LAMÉCO is a family owned and operated manufacturer of custom and standard laminated shims, also called peel, peel-off or peelable shims, and of solid shims. It began operating in 1974 and is based in Trappes, west of Paris. The company says it has thousands of clients worldwide, including aircraft engine manufacturers, Formula 1 teams and scientific equipment makers.

Laminated materials include aluminum, brass, stainless steel, steel, titanium, polyimide, polyester, PETG, PEEK, glass fabric and carbon fabric. The foils are glued across the entire face rather than only at the edge, which the company says avoids delamination, and the shims are free of burrs. Each shim can be peeled into foils only a few microns thick using a scalpel or finger, so users can compensate for play or wear without keeping a large stock of solid shims. The company says its laminated shims can hold precision to one hundredth of a millimeter when required.
