Kansas State University Salina Aerospace and Technology Campus

Kansas State University Salina, which the university calls its Aerospace and Technology Campus, is a campus of Kansas State University in Salina, Kansas. It offers more than 25 programs, including undergraduate, certificate, associate, bachelor, minor and graduate options, and professional pilot flight training is one of its aviation options.

Flight training fleet

• More than 30 aircraft, mostly built in Kansas, plus three hangars and flight simulators with visual displays
• Cessna 172 Skyhawk for private pilot training, 160 hp, about half with Garmin G1000 avionics
• Cirrus SR20, 215 hp, five new aircraft
• Beechcraft Baron 58 for multi-engine training, with two 300 hp engines
• American Champion Super Decathlon for an optional upset recovery and aerobatics course
• Two Redbird flight simulators, one L3Harris full flight training device and two flat-panel trainers

Training path

Students begin private pilot training in the Cessna 172. Multi-engine training takes place in the Baron 58, which prepares students for commercial and flight instructor certificates.
