JAXUSA Partnership

JAXUSA Partnership is the regional economic development organization for Northeast Florida, based in Jacksonville. It is a private, nonprofit group and a division of the JAX Chamber. It helps companies that want to move to the region or grow there, including aerospace and defense firms.

The group has worked in the region since 1990. Its stated mission is to bring in jobs, attract capital investment and build a talent pipeline. It says it has helped create more than 137,000 jobs and attract $13.6 billion in capital investment.

JAXUSA serves a seven-county market: Baker, Clay, Duval, Flagler, Nassau, Putnam and St. Johns. Each county has its own strengths. Flagler County is linked with aviation and aerospace. Duval County has ports, an airport and rail. Clay County is tied to health care and defense, and Nassau County has a defense presence.

The organization supports companies through the site selection and expansion process. Its work includes research and marketing to recruit firms, and project management for executives and site consultants. It also helps existing businesses that plan to relocate or expand. In addition, it works with infrastructure and workforce partners to keep the business climate strong.

The region offers many transport links. The group points to two deep-water ports, three interstates, three Class I railroads, an international airport system and a spaceport. It says Jacksonville International Airport has more than 90 nonstop daily flights to over 40 U.S. airports. Companies can reach 98 million consumers within one truck day.

Industries covered include advanced manufacturing with space and defense, aerospace and defense, corporate operations, financial services, life sciences, technology services, and transportation and logistics. JAXUSA works with the Jacksonville Aviation Authority, JAXPORT, JEA and the Jacksonville Transportation Authority. It also lists more than 160 private-sector investor companies. Each year it takes an economic development mission to the UK.
