ISAE-ENSMA

ISAE-ENSMA is a French engineering school that trains engineers in mechanics and aerotechnics. It is based in Futuroscope Chasseneuil, France, and it is part of the ISAE Group.

The school has been running for more than 75 years. In that time it has trained over 7,500 engineers. It also carries out research that is recognised around the world, built on partnerships with large companies. Many of those companies hire a big share of its graduates.

Its courses cover fluid and structural mechanics, aerodynamics, energy, thermal propulsion, materials and industrial IT. Graduates move into design offices and research and development. They mostly join transport industries, including aviation and cars, as well as space, energy, mechanics and IT. The school is also the reference school for a national entrance exam, the Concours Communs INP, in aeronautics and space design.

The school has 604 engineering students. About 39% receive scholarships and 15% come from abroad. It has 111 research professors and research engineers. Each year about 365 people graduate, across engineering degrees, masters and doctorates. The school counts 5,500 alumni who are active in their careers.

Research labs sit on the school's own site. These are Institut Pprime and Laboratoire LIAS. Nearly 250 researchers, research professors, engineers and technicians work there, along with more than 200 doctoral students. Close links between the labs, the classes and companies shape the training.

The school has long ties with large groups and with small and medium businesses. Companies offer internships and jobs, take part in teaching, hold visits, talks and forums, and sit on school boards. For international exchange, it has 55 agreements with universities in 24 countries. It also takes part in exchange networks including GE4, BCI for Canada, BRAFITEC for Brazil, ARFITEC for Argentina, PFIEV for Vietnam and SIAE Tianjin for China.
