About Hyde Aero Products

Hyde Aero Products is part of the Hyde Group, a group of engineering companies based in the United Kingdom. The group says it has over 50 years of experience in safety-critical industries. It serves defence and commercial customers, including aviation.

The group offers design, manufacture, tooling, testing and rapid support. It can take a part from the first concept through to technical drawings. It also makes development parts, using design for manufacture methods and new product introduction support.

Hyde reports more than 20 production sites in the UK and abroad. These sites do precision manufacturing, assembly and surface treatment. The group makes critical parts for airframes, nuclear work, submarines, land systems and armoured vehicles. It states that it is ITAR compliant and holds Cyber Essential Plus accreditation.

Tooling and test equipment are a core strength. Hyde designs and builds assembly fixtures, ground support equipment and mould tools. It also builds mechanical, pressure, temperature and structural test rigs for gas turbines, structures and landing gear. A further area covers mechanical handling, robotics, automation and glovebox systems.

Hyde is also a strategic supplier to the gas turbine, defence and nuclear sectors. It provides test equipment and the parts that support it. The group calls itself one of the largest engineering companies in the UK. A support team works around the clock. It designs, builds and delivers fast-turn parts for aviation and defence customers.

The company history is on its website. Hyde began as Hyde Tool, a five-man tool room that made press tools. In the early 1970s it moved into aircraft work, building fuselage assembly jigs for the Panavia Tornado. In 1976 it won a large manufacturing contract from Caterpillar for mining work. In 1981 a satellite company made master gauges for Indian-built SEPECAT Jaguars.

Hyde Group was formed in 1984. Its first big project was managing and making the Fokker F100 wing. The group later worked in space, nuclear, automotive and rail. It says it became the largest tooling company in Europe during the 1990s. The website has divisional contacts, supplier quality requirements and an enquiry form. Each company in the group kept its independence under one shared management system.
