Hong Kong's international airport, operated by the Airport Authority Hong Kong

About Hong Kong International Airport

The airport's history runs from the first powered flight in Hong Kong on 18 March 1911, when Belgian pilot Charles Van den Born flew the Farman biplane Spirit of Sha Tin, through Kai Tak Airport, which opened in 1930, received its first commercial flight from Imperial Airways in 1936 and gained its 2,529 m runway 13/31 in 1958, to the present airport at Chek Lap Kok.
