HBK Hottinger Brüel & Kjær

HBK is a global provider of test and measurement products. It helps engineers turn data into insight. The company was formed in 2019 by joining two firms, HBM and Brüel and Kjær. Aerospace is one of the industries it serves.

HBK says its work covers three areas: mechanical, sound and vibration, and electrical. Its products include sensors, data acquisition systems, software for engineers, electric power testing, reliability software and services, and custom sensors made for OEM customers. Its application areas include acoustics, NVH, durability and fatigue, vibration, virtual testing, and weighing and scales.

For aerospace, the site says HBK sensors, data acquisition systems and analysis tools help engineers build aircraft. The help runs from early development through certification and operation. The home page also features an expert panel on five trends shaping future UAVs. The topics are autonomy, navigation, propulsion, testing and certification.

One success story is about NAVAIR. HBK Engineering Solutions built a common Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System, called C-FRACAS+, for the 33 programmes of NAVAIR Command. Each programme has different aircraft and systems. Another story covers Ford and road load data management. HBK also serves the automotive, audio and energy industries.

The brands under the HBK name include HBM, Brüel and Kjær, nCode, ReliaSoft, MicroStrain and Discom. The site shows a link to Spectris. It offers a sensor finder tool and a contact page with options to buy, get service, get a demo or get training. It also has a careers page.
