Hanshin Metalics

Hanshin Metalics, now operating under the name METALIX Inc., is a Japanese specialty steel trading house based in Kobe, Hyogo. It was founded as a sole proprietorship, Hanshin Hagane Shokai, by Toshizo Kawai as a dealer in specialty steel and special tool steel. The company describes its mission as being the hub that connects steelmakers and customers, and its president and CEO is Toshihiko Kawai.

Materials and services

It has established overseas subsidiaries, including Suzhou Dmet Precision Technology in China, which relocated from Shanghai to Suzhou, and an affiliated Indonesian company, PT Mitra Tama Gemilang, which distributes specialty steel. The company reports annual sales of 16.29 billion yen for the fiscal year ended September 2026, and 21.16 billion yen for the group, with paid-in capital of 70 million yen.
