Freedom Aviation

Freedom Aviation, Inc. is the fixed-base operator at Lynchburg Regional Airport (LYH) in Lynchburg, Virginia. Its maintenance shop is at 310 Hangar Road and the FBO terminal at 970 Airport Road. The company offers fueling, hangars, maintenance, avionics, charter and management, flight training and aircraft sales.

Services

Freedom Aviation is a certified Cessna, Beechcraft, Cirrus and Mooney service center and an FAA Part 145 repair station for Citation 500, 525 (CJ to CJ4), 560XL/XLS, 650 and 680 series aircraft and King Air 90, 100 and 200 series. Work includes annual, progressive, phase and AAIP inspections, major repairs and alterations, engine changes, pre-purchase inspections, IceShield installation and AOG service. It has over 40,000 square feet of hangar space, and A&P mechanics are on call 24 hours a day. The parts department stocks parts for Beechcraft, Cessna, Cirrus, Mooney and Piper aircraft.

The avionics shop, formerly part of Virginia Aviation, has operated for more than 50 years. It holds FAA repair station certificate BGSR439C with Radio Class 1 and 2 and Limited Instrument ratings, covering IFR recertification, pitot-static, RVSM and transponder work.

FBO and facilities

The FBO is open 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM, seven days a week, with Jet A and 100LL, GPU, lav service, a conference room, pilot shop and crew car. Freedom also runs King Air 250 charter and a Cessna Pilot Center Part 61 flight school.
