Flugplatz Mengen-Hohentengen

Regio-Airport Mengen is a regional airfield at Mengen and Hohentengen in Germany, with the ICAO code EDTM. It serves general aviation, flight schools, air sports clubs and business flights.

The airfield can be used by both visual flight rules and instrument flight rules traffic. Pilots can land and take off at night and in weaker weather. The airfield has an aerodrome flight information service, called AFIS, with a tower. It also has a weather station certified by the German weather service since 23 March 2023, and live webcams that look south and southeast.

The airfield offers services for visiting pilots. These include a fuel station, an electric charging point for aircraft, and a restaurant on site. Pilots can register for special use outside normal opening times with a prior permission request. Flights into or out of countries outside the Schengen area need a customs and border notice, which must be sent well ahead of time. The airfield also publishes its fees, its rules for use, and information on night flying and noise protection.

The airport says that more than half of aviation is general aviation. Several air sports clubs are based here, including Luftsport Mengen and clubs linked to the Federsee and Oberschwaben areas. A flight school called hb-air trains pilots at the airfield. Other businesses on site include a private jet charter firm, DAS Private Jets, and a flight medical service. A nearby hotel, Zum Fliegerwirt, serves visiting crews and guests.

The airfield also tells pilots about local transport options, including taxis nearby and an electric car sharing service. It posts news for users and a list of today's flight plans. A job notice for a flight controller and AFIS officer appears in its news section.
