About Federation of Malaysian Freight Forwarders
The Federation of Malaysian Freight Forwarders (FMFF) is dedicated to the logistics and supply chain industry in Malaysia. It was established in 1987 as a national logistics association and, in 2000, was recognised by the Ministry of Transport as the national association representing logistics in Malaysia and abroad. Its address is No. 23, Jalan Cemerlang in Port Klang, Selangor. The federation says it works to raise the efficiency and reliability of freight forwarding services across the country.
FMFF reports a total of 1,666 members nationwide, spread across Selangor, Penang, Johor, Sarawak, Kota Kinabalu, Labuan and Kedah. Selangor has the most members, with more than 781.
Representation and memberships
- It is represented in forums such as the Trade Facilitation Working Group of the trade ministry, regular dialogues with government ministries and customs, and the Port Consultative Committee of Federal Ports
- It sits on an advisory board of the Ministry of Higher Education on vocational training
- It is a member of FIATA, the international federation of freight forwarding associations, of FAPAA, the Federation of Asia-Pacific Air Cargo Agents, and of AFFA, the Asean Federation of Forwarders Associations
Services and training
FMFF unites logistics associations under its banner. It offers Standard Trading Conditions to members and liability insurance for their logistics work. It endorses conferences, seminars and training programmes from other organisers, and it runs a capacity development programme that includes the UNESCAP course in multi-modal transport and the FIATA Diploma in Freight Forwarding. In 2016 it received a training grant under a national industry certification programme, and it is talking with a university about courses to professionalise the logistics workforce.
The home page highlights the FIATA World Congress in Kuala Lumpur, the AFFA Singapore Summit in November 2026 and news on a logistics hub at KLIA Aeropolis.
