About Every Coast Helicopter Operations

Every Coast Helicopter Operations, known as ECHO, is a nonprofit community for public safety aviation personnel. Its members include paramedics, nurses, pilots, mechanics, communications specialists, police officers and military members. ECHO describes itself as for flight crews, by flight crews. It is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in the United States. Joining is free.

ECHO was founded by operational flight programs to take advantage of joint training in a less formal setting, at no or low cost. Its mission is to provide free to low-cost education, training programs, crew member and program support, and networking to public safety aviation members around the world. Since then it has offered targeted training for tactical, search and rescue and air medical crews.

FAST, the Flight Crew Assistance and Support Team, is an all-volunteer, deployable peer support team. It is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The team is described as the only all-volunteer deployable peer support team in the United States.

Future Flight Crew is a mentorship program that prepares students for air medical careers. The company says it was the first mentorship program in the nation with dedicated instructors for this purpose. More than 125 students have graduated from the program.

The Safety Team promotes a just culture and safe practice, so that every flight crew member has a voice. The Safe on Deck Relief Fund supports flight crew members and program staff after catastrophic events and natural disasters. The fund states that 100% of donations go to crew members in need of assistance.

ECHO provides training for law enforcement and search and rescue agencies. Its annual Public Safety Aviation Conference was held in Philadelphia in 2026 and draws 300 to 500 attendees. Its sponsorship covers air medical, law enforcement aviation, search and rescue, fire operations and military crews.

ECHO relies on corporate partners and sponsors, whose contributions are tax deductible. It has more than 11,000 followers on Facebook and more than 2,600 on Instagram. Partners listed on the site include Leonardo, Air Methods, Karl Storz, MD Helicopters, Airbus, FLIR and Dallas Avionics. ECHO also sells ECHO Gear merchandise.
