European HEMS & Air Ambulance Committee (EHAC)

The European HEMS and Air Ambulance Committee, known as EHAC, is a professional association. The site says it has existed for more than 20 years. It brings together the international aero medical community. It is registered as an association in Munich, Germany.

EHAC works with its members, experts, authorities and industry groups. The site names EASA as a key authority. The committee aims to develop air rescue services and keep high standards of service quality. Flight safety and medical effectiveness are the main criteria.

EHAC was founded in 2000. The site says the founders included ADAC Air Rescue in Germany, Christophorus Air Rescue in Austria and Swiss Air Rescue, known as Rega, in Switzerland. The membership now includes fixed wing operators as well as helicopter operators.

Full membership is open to organizations that run a HEMS service under a public contract, or that directly provide air ambulance or air rescue services. Those members must operate at least one dedicated HEMS helicopter. The site has a membership application page.

The board has a president and seven other members. Stefan Becker of REGA in Switzerland is president. Krystian Pracz of DRF Luftrettung in Germany is vice president. Bastiaan Kroes of ANWB in the Netherlands joined the board at the first 2026 meeting.

The AirMed World Congress 2026 will be held in Munich from 16 to 18 September 2026. ADAC Luftrettung hosts it for EHAC. The site expects more than 800 HEMS and air ambulance professionals. The site also has a contact page and a postal address in Vienna, Austria.
