Enstrom Helicopter Corporation designs, builds and supports light helicopters at its factory in Menominee, Michigan. The company has been making helicopters for over 65 years, since 1959. The cabins seat 3 to 5 people with 240 degree visibility. The 480B uses an all mechanical control system, wide landing gear with oleo struts and an unrestricted tail rotor, which Enstrom says makes it a safe trainer. The 480B is described by Enstrom as the only single engine light turbine designed for the mission of training US Army pilots, and the 480B Trainer has an integrated observer seat.
