Electromech Technologies designs, manufactures and supports AC motors, brushed and brushless DC motors, actuators and position feedback devices. It was founded in 1968 in Wichita, Kansas, and has been at its current site in southwest Wichita since 1973. Its components serve aerospace, defense, industrial and medical applications.

Products

  • Motors: brushed DC, brushless DC, AC induction, PM synchronous, partial motors and generators
  • Linear and rotary actuators
  • Position feedback devices, including LVDTs, RVDTs and resolvers
  • Blowers and valves
  • Electronics and windings

Typical motor uses include hydraulic pump drives, environmental control, cabin and cargo doors, flap drives, hoists and radars. The company names the Beechcraft King Air, Boeing C-17, Cessna Citations and Bombardier Learjets among aircraft that use its components.

History

Electromech moved to a larger site in 1970 and began its DC motor, rotary and linear actuator lines. Vickers acquired it in 1986. It was sold to Western Sky Industries in 1996 and became part of McKechnie Aerospace in 1999. TransDigm Group acquired McKechnie Aerospace in 2010. In July 2015 Electromech moved the Motion Control Product Line from Transicoil Aerospace Solutions in Collegeville, Pennsylvania, to Wichita.
