About Ekoscan
Ekoscan makes non-destructive testing equipment, including scanners, electronics, software and probes, in France. Its products help industries inspect parts and structures without damaging them. The company serves asset owners, inspection companies and equipment makers around the world.
The company says it has more than 40 years of experience in the NDT industry. It is backed by an engineering group of more than 50 people with skills in electronics, probes, robotics, ultrasound, eddy current, signal processing and software. Its ultrasound imaging and eddy current know-how comes from AUT Solutions, Socomate and SG NDT, now all part of the Ekoscan brand.
The product range has several parts. Solutions include automation, control systems and supervision, custom software design, tube inspection and named systems such as EKORAIL, LEMANS and METIS. In-line inspection systems include combined eddy current and ultrasonic benches. Scanners come in automated and manual forms. Electronics cover ultrasound, eddy current and calibration services.
Ekoscan software includes EKOUT, EMMA, MIRA, A2i Video and a software development kit. Probes include phased-array ultrasound, conventional ultrasound, eddy current array, conventional eddy current and alternating current field measurement probes. Accessories include reference blocks.
The company covers a wide set of ultrasound imaging methods. These include electronic scanning, beam focusing and steering, sectorial scanning, full matrix capture, plane wave imaging, total focusing and phase coherence imaging. It also works on eddy current inspection and on automating analysis.
Ekoscan lists several application areas. In aerospace and defense, it covers aerospace forging inspection, engine disk inspection, and aircraft stringers and fuselage inspection. Other fields are nuclear, hydrogen, renewable energy, railways, manufacturing, and oil and gas. Examples include rail and train axle inspection, wind turbine blade and monopile weld checks, and tank corrosion mapping.
The company has sites in several French towns and in Quebec, Canada. It says its work supports preventive maintenance, which helps cut material waste and extend asset life.
