DOTAS Aviation develops LED lighting retrofits for fixed wing aircraft and helicopters. It is an EASA Part 21J approved design organisation and says its products are engineered in Europe.

Its cabin light retrofit for fixed wing aircraft is plug and play and form, fit and function. It needs no ballast units and no wire touching. For helicopters it offers plug and play replacements for OEM and classic halogen lights. It also replaces exterior lights on many aircraft types and supplies airport and helipad lights, including strobes.

The company says its LED systems have operated since 2008 without a single warranty case. It focuses on the issues with OEM products and offers retrofits that can pay back quickly for airlines, in some cases within days. It says a large customer network allows it to test each prototype in real conditions.

DOTAS designs and certifies LED lighting changes under its own design approval. It also works on electronics, metalwork and refurbishment, including seats, and it develops custom solutions with customers. One example is the interior of a 2023 aircraft for TIA Bahamas.

The company began in 2006 with cargo lights for the Lufthansa Technik Boeing 777 group in Frankfurt. It has run live aircraft demonstrations for airlines and MROs, including at Aviation Africa in Nairobi.
