About Curaçao International Airport

Curacao International Airport (CUR) is the airport of the Dutch Caribbean island of Curacao, connecting the island with Europe, the Americas and the Caribbean. It is operated by Curacao Airport Partners (CAP), a consortium of ASUR of Mexico, Janssen de Jong of the Netherlands and Aport, the investment arm of Zurich Airport, under a 30-year concession, alongside Curacao Airport Holding (CAH); in September 2026 the airport joined the ASUR airport network following completion of a transaction that strengthened its international platform while ensuring continuity of operations and leadership. The airport is a twenty-minute drive from the UNESCO World Heritage city centre of Punda in Willemstad.

Facilities

  • An 18,000 square metre terminal opened in late 2018 with a design capacity of 2.5 million passengers a year and six boarding bridges able to handle three widebody aircraft at once, now undergoing an outbound terminal mid-expansion project launched in May 2026 to improve operational efficiency and support growth
  • A single 3,400 metre runway and daily non-stop services to Miami, Amsterdam, Colombia, Panama, Aruba, Bonaire and St. Maarten, with American Airlines marking 55 years of service to Curacao in 2026
  • A General Aviation Center opened in autumn 2014 offering a separate building with private entrance, exit and amenities for business and private aviation travellers
  • Retail, duty free and food and beverage outlets plus a commercial plaza in front of the terminal with shops, restaurants and services, and a Sunflower Lanyard programme for passengers with hidden disabilities

Awards and community

CUR received the Skytrax 2026 award for Best Airport Staff in Central America and the Caribbean and a Routes Americas Award in 2026. CAP and CAH support community projects such as the Siloam foundation in Bandabou, an educational mural and infusion-pole mascots at the CMC hospital, a Legends Football Tournament with Ronaldinho and a campaign celebrating Curacao's first FIFA World Cup qualification. The website offers live arrivals and departures, trip preparation advice, car rental, advertising opportunities, careers and travel advisories, and the airport is led by CAP chief executive Ricardo Hernandez.
