About Bundesvereinigung fliegendes Personal der Polizei
Bundesvereinigung fliegendes Personal der Polizei, known as BfPP, is a professional association for police flying personnel in Germany. It acts as a union-style body for all police officers in Germany who fly or work on board police aircraft, whether the aircraft belong to the federal police or to one of the German states.
The association speaks for its members on career and social policy. It aims to improve and equalise general working and living conditions. It represents the crews of police aircraft to their employers in a demanding daily setting.
BfPP also advises ministries on the complex area of general aviation, with its special laws and rules. It uses its expert knowledge to influence legislation. It follows changes in career and service law and works hard on health, working time and allowances for the benefit of members and their families.
To reach these goals, BfPP works with partner groups, including the Deutscher Bundeswehrverband and Vereinigung Cockpit. It also works with staff councils, other professional bodies and unions, police departments, authorities and ministries. Public relations and press work, and the voluntary effort of members who sit on its boards, are also part of its work.
A volunteer federal board of five members leads the association and is elected every four years. The chair, the deputy chair and the managing director form the executive board. Other board members include assessors and a representative for retired members.
BfPP takes part in events across the year. These include two delegates' meetings, the Hubschrauberforum in Bückeburg, Aero Friedrichshafen and the federal congress of the DPolG police union. It also publishes a helicopter calendar for 2027, with sales supporting good causes.
