Above Space

ABOVE Space Development Corporation is a company that builds platforms for space. It describes its goal as more space in space. The site says it designs and develops adaptive, versatile space architectures for commercial customers and the US Department of Defense. A subsidiary, ABOVE Orbital, is also listed.

The company plans a fleet of independent orbital platforms for code testing, on orbit AI, data services, imaging and hardware validation. It also plans larger orbital platforms for energy beaming, solar power and communications. The site says these platforms are recognised by DARPA and the DoD.

Hosted payload and data services provide satellite buses, on orbit code testing and bundled services for missions to the International Space Station. The site also offers Mission Ready Consulting, which guides customers from concept to mission operations.

The site names Rhonda Stevenson as chief executive and president. It says she joined in 2021 and refocused the business. Dr Tom Spilker is named as chief technology officer and vice chair of the board, with decades of NASA and JPL mission experience. The site says the team has over 100 years of space heritage.

The site says the company has competed successfully for SBIR contracts to advance rapidly deployable technologies for low Earth orbit. It describes plans for habitability in low Earth orbit, cislunar space and beyond. The site includes investor and media pages, a podcast called Our Future in Space, and a merchandise shop.
