Atlantsflug / Flightseeing

Atlantsflug is a family-owned Icelandic aviation company based at Skaftafell Terminal in Southeast Iceland, and it sells its tours through Flightseeing.is. The company says its founder, Jón Grétar, began offering sightseeing flights from Skaftafell more than 25 years ago, starting from a small shed. The terminal sits beside Vatnajökull National Park, just off Route 1, with direct access to outlet glaciers, glacier lagoons, black sand plains and braided rivers.

Helicopter tours

• Glacier Edge Helicopter Tour from Skaftafell with Landing: a one hour flight over glaciers with a scenic landing near the glacier
• Ultimate Iceland Helicopter Tour from Skaftafell: about two and a half hours with two scenic landings
• Scheduled tours range from 15 minutes to about 2.5 hours, and selected helicopter tours include a landing

Airplane tours, charter and photography

The company also runs airplane tours, such as the 45 minute Black Sands and Riverbeds flight. It arranges private airplane and helicopter charters for individuals, families and groups, with hotel pickup possible by prior arrangement. Dedicated aerial photography and filming flights are available, and its Cessna 207 has three openable windows suited to photography. Every private flight is planned and quoted individually.
