About Astradyne
Astradyne develops lightweight, high-performance solar power systems for space from its base in Bari, Italy. Its main products are solar arrays for satellites. The company also has a new high-power spacecraft under development.
The company builds on expertise in aerospace engineering, advanced manufacturing and system integration. Its team brings together engineers and specialists in aerospace, manufacturing, electronics and business development. Bari is both its headquarters and its engineering centre. Astradyne says it designs technology to create real value, in orbit and on the ground. It wants space infrastructure to serve people on Earth, and it says its work is guided by engineering rigour and responsibility.
Solar-X is a space solar array designed for satellite constellations. It is ultra-lightweight and cost-effective. Its main features are a lightweight structure, high specific power, scalable manufacturing, configurable form factors and quick procurement.
Solar-Z is a compact space solar array for high-performance satellite missions. It stows in a small space and has an ultra-lightweight build. It comes in modular configurations, uses high-efficiency solar cells and is built for high reliability.
Astradyne is also developing a new generation of high-power spacecraft. The design aims at very high power, advanced thermal management, a modular layout and a scalable system. The company says missions are moving from collecting data to processing it in orbit. In that kind of spacecraft, power generation and heat rejection set the limits of what is possible. Astradyne is working on the technologies this new class of spacecraft will need.
Four principles guide the engineering. Designs aim for high power with low mass. They are built for high power density and efficiency. The architectures are made to scale and to suit manufacturing, which keeps cost down. Development cycles are meant to be fast, and procurement quick.
Astradyne works with satellite operators, integrators and research programmes. It invites teams that need lightweight, high-performance power to describe their mission. The company also talks with partners and investors about missions, partnerships and investment.
