Apollo Aerospace Components is a UK supplier of hardware, electrical connectors and supply chain services for the aerospace and defence markets. It says it simplifies and streamlines the supply chains that feed its customers.

The company has more than 1,000 customers. They work at all levels of the global aerospace and defence market. Apollo supports them from early design work, through manufacturing, and into the aftermarket. It sorts its customers into four groups: prime and tier 1 firms, tier 2 and tier 3 firms, aftermarket and distributor buyers, and supply partners.

The hardware line covers a complete range of fasteners and hardware for aerospace and defence uses. It includes the Flexloc range of locknuts. The electrical connectors line covers connectors, contacts, backshells and interconnect accessories. Apollo keeps stock, assembles and supplies them. Its range includes MIL-DTL-38999, MIL-DTL-26482 and MIL-DTL-5015 connectors, as well as M83723, EN2997 and ESC10 connectors. A rugged USB connector is also listed.

Apollo also supplies M85049 backshells, caps and lanyards, contacts, filler plugs and tools for mil-spec and commercial connectors. It offers M39029 contacts and hyperboloid contacts for high current and long life. It supplies hermetic connectors from Amphenol Martec and Ametek.

The company runs a custom interconnect service for special needs. Examples include connectors for tight spaces, unusual mounting patterns, mixed low and high frequency contacts, PCB tail contacts, special EMI filters, high temperature use, backshells with non-standard outlets and hermetic seals. The process has four steps. Engineers gather the requirements and check the market for an existing part. They then make a preliminary design, finish a detailed design, and produce the accepted design in the volume needed.
