Anupam Group

Anupam Group designs and makes cranes and material handling equipment in Anand, Gujarat, India. It says it has more than 50 years of experience and more than 5,000 installations. Its customers come from steel, power, ports, heavy engineering and construction.

The group runs six ISO 9001 certified facilities in and around Anand. Together they cover 100,000 square metres. The company says it combines design and engineering skill, strong manufacturing and after-sales service.

Its products include electric overhead travel (EOT) cranes, Goliath cranes, charging and teeming cranes, container handling cranes and wharf or jib cranes. It also makes tower cranes and bulk material handling equipment. EOT cranes are used in steel making, car production, heavy engineering and power plants. The company says its EOT cranes have safety features such as an emergency halt and overload signalling.

For the steel industry, Anupam makes steel mill cranes that handle scrap and finished products in hot and dusty places. It also makes scrap yard cranes with magnets or grabs, and process cranes that move hot slabs, blooms and billets. For the power sector, it supplies heavy-duty cranes for power plant halls. For ports and shipbuilding, it builds rail-mounted quay cranes and rubber-tyred and rail-mounted gantry cranes. Goliath cranes are large outdoor gantry cranes that can lift hundreds of tonnes.

The company lists many firsts and large jobs. It built a 450/50 tonne crane for L&T-MHI Turbine Generator. It was the first Indian company to design and make 350/50 tonne double girder forging cranes. It delivered three rail-mounted quay cranes to Jawaharlal Nehru Port in Mumbai and seven custom EOT cranes to Ecovix in Brazil. It also supplied two 550 tonne gantry cranes for the Mumbai to Ahmedabad high-speed train project. Eight cranes went to the ArcelorMittal Calvert plant in the USA, its largest export order for steel mill cranes.
