Into-plane fuelling and fuel farm management at airports in the Americas
About Allied Aviation Services
Allied Aviation Services, Inc. is the largest American domestically owned provider of fueling services to the commercial aviation industry. It is independently owned and operated. The company has over 70 years of experience at major airports in North and Central America. It says safety of employees, airline customers and the airport environment is of utmost importance.
The company's core business is fueling for commercial aviation at some of the largest airports in the United States, Canada, South America and the Caribbean. It is the designated into-plane service provider or fuel storage operator at 18 major airports. It fuels about 1.9 million commercial flights each year. The Allied family of companies in Canada includes Consolidated, CAFAS and Airconsol.
Allied manages the receipt, storage and operation of airport distribution systems that move more than 4 billion gallons of Jet-A fuel each year. Its affiliates own and operate pipelines, tank farms, and other business activities.
Its services include tank farm management, which covers fuel facility operations and maintenance at major airports and project management for fuel facility projects. Equipment maintenance runs a maintenance program for each piece of into-plane fueling and support equipment.
Into-plane refueling is measured on timeliness by both airlines and Allied. The company also runs fixed base operations, which include tracking incoming aircraft. In Canada it provides ground services too, and it offers design, construction and financing expertise for aviation fueling facilities.
Fuel quality is checked through tests such as filter membrane, entrained water and specific gravity tests. Inventory is verified at the inbound meter, which a certified third party calibrates periodically. Allied pays close attention to OSHA and EPA requirements for fuel storage and distribution.
Allied says its staff are highly trained managers and operators with extensive knowledge of airport fueling operations. Its intense training programs aim to keep employees safe and environmentally conscious. The company says it is committed to corporate responsibility.
