Airtech Advanced Materials Group
Vacuum bagging and composite tooling materials manufacturer in Luxembourg
About Airtech Advanced Materials Group
Airtech Europe is a division of Airtech Advanced Materials Group, with its office in Differdange, Luxembourg. The group makes vacuum bagging and composite tooling materials. It says it is the largest maker of these materials for prepreg and autoclave, resin infusion and wet lay-up work, at temperatures up to 426 degrees Celsius.
Its materials are used in several processes: prepreg and autoclave, glass laminating, resin infusion, oven cure and wet lay-up. The company names these market sectors: aerospace, wind energy, high performance automotive, motorsport, general composites and recreation, marine, printed circuit boards and solar energy. Aerospace and defence customers also appear in its news.
Services include combination products, custom products with kitting, technical support and training. Print-Tech is its full-service large scale 3D printing for tool making. Airtech uses two large additive manufacturing machines, each 12 metres by 3 metres, at its sites in Springfield, Tennessee and Differdange. It also lists ToolFusion as a product line.
The company's news pages describe partnerships in large format additive manufacturing. These include work with KraussMaffei, Caracol, CEAD, Ascent Aerospace and Additive Engineering Solutions. Airtech and KraussMaffei announced the qualification of Dahltram resins on the powerPrint platform. Airtech has also bought Kimya assets to widen its filament range, and it has teamed up with Distran on leak detection for the composites industry.
The group has offices and sites in the United States, Luxembourg, the United Kingdom and China. These include Huntington Beach in California, Differdange in Luxembourg, Chadderton near Oldham in the United Kingdom and Tianjin in China. The group marked its 50th anniversary with a new location in India. A unit once called Tygavac Advanced Materials is now Airtech Advanced Materials UK. Airtech Nonwovens has also joined the group.
