About Aircraft Inspection & Management

Aircraft Inspection and Management, known as AIM, is an aircraft and jet engine maintenance company based in Tucson, Arizona. It was founded in 2005. It serves customers around the world with engine repair, overhaul, testing, storage and field support.

Engine work is the core of the business. AIM does quick, targeted engine repairs, CFM56 overhauls and module maintenance. It also tests, inspects, removes, tags serviceable and stores engines. It has been certified to repair LEAP-1B engines since 2022. It holds FAA-approved procedures to blend out damage on low-pressure turbine blades of CF6-80, CFM56, JT9D-7, PW2000 and V2500 series engines. It has similar procedures for compressors on RB211, Trent 700 and 800, JT9D, V2500, PW2000 and PW4000 series engines.

The service list covers aircraft parking and storage, inspection, evaluation and testing, repair, overhaul and tagging. It also covers engine transport, preservation and storage, and equipment rental. Top case repairs and engine stand rentals were added in 2010.

AIM also works in the field. Its FAA D100 authorization lets it work on any aircraft, engine or APU at any airport, maintenance facility or storage site in the world. It can arrange the logistics for repairs or carry them out directly.

The company is an FAA and EASA Part 145 certificated repair station. It became an FAA repair station in 2009 and added EASA approval in 2010. It runs an approved quality control system and an approved drug and alcohol program. It also lists approvals from TCCA, the CAA and 2REG.

AIM runs several sites in Arizona. The engine shop and engine teardown facility are in Tucson. A facility at Coolidge-Randolph Municipal Airport has taken aircraft for parking, storage and teardown since 2022. A facility at Pinal Airpark in Marana has done the same since 2023. AIM also partners with MROs in Tucson, Marana, Goodyear, Victorville, Mojave and Roswell.

Customers include Alaska Airlines, Frontier Airlines, Rolls-Royce North America and Petrus Aviation. By 2020 the staff numbered 25, with three technicians and inspectors based in Europe and Thailand.
