About Aircraft Design Certification

Aircraft Design Certification GmbH, also called ADC, is a German engineering company for aircraft development and approval. It has offices in Neckargemünd and Nuremberg in Germany. Its special strength is taking charge of a project from development all the way to approval of the aircraft.

ADC is an EASA approved design organisation, with the approval number EASA.21J.411. Since 2005 it has run approval projects for aircraft, aircraft parts and propellers. Its company goal is to be an approval factory. It helps owners who need a change to an aircraft, and those whose aircraft has no approval yet.

The company offers four main services. Development covers aircraft design work for clients who need a lighter, faster or better organised product. Approval covers the full process of getting a change or a new product accepted. Load assumptions are worked out in a way that can be followed step by step, from aerodynamics down to the load on a single part. Concept review checks early ideas against the rules.

ADC also works on aircraft cabins. Galleys, toilets, storage bins and overhead racks all need strength calculations and proofs, deformation analysis and interface load checks. ADC provides design and calculation work for cabin structures and their fittings for various makers and airlines.

In general aviation, ADC offers changes and repairs. Examples include a higher towing mass of 1000 kg for the Extra 300, and a 5000 hour life without aerobatic rights for the Blanik L13. It has also designed a steerable tail wheel for the Ventus cM, an ORATEX fabric covering option, and a shoulder harness for the Jodel DR1050. It also lists the D4 Fascination.

In January 2023 ADC joined the Alliance for Zero-Emission Aviation, which the European Commission started. A magazine article in aerokurier in December 2021 described its flight test data work. The company is looking for engineers with experience in development and approval, and it offers topics for master theses.
