AFMAE
Aviation apprentice training centre at Paris-Le Bourget since 1996
About AFMAE
AFMAÉ is a French aviation training centre founded in 1996 by Air France, Groupe ADP, the FNAM (Fédération Nationale de l'Aviation et de ses Métiers) and GIFAS, the French aerospace industries association. It operates two sites in the Île-de-France region, one at Paris-Le Bourget airport in Bonneuil-en-France and one at the Toussus-le-Noble aerodrome, and prepares learners for state diplomas and professional certifications in aeronautical technical trades and customer service roles, mainly through apprenticeship. It describes itself as the CFA (apprentice training centre) for aviation trades.
Technical training
- Baccalauréat Professionnel Aéronautique in systems, avionics and structure options, and the BTS Aéronautique higher technician diploma
- Part 66 aircraft maintenance licence training for categories B1.1 and B2, delivered under EASA Part 147 approval FR.147.0023, plus specialisation certificates in avionics and turbine-engined aircraft
- Professional qualification certificates (CQP) for cabin integrators, aircraft structure fitters and assemblers, quality inspectors, wiring integrators, aerospace painters and high-performance composite materials operators, and a TPFP title for mechanised systems assemblers
- Tailored company training, including a manufacturer's attestation for electrical maintenance on the Pipistrel Velis Electro and a 441-hour, 63-day B1.1 licence programme
Customer service training
- CQP cabin crew (Personnel Navigant Commercial) course of around 300 hours, adapted to airline needs
- Certificat de Spécialisation Accueil dans les Transports for ground handling and passenger service agents
Role and partners
AFMAÉ builds its training offer with partner companies in air transport and aerospace manufacturing, with Air France and Airbus among the logos shown on its site, and works with the French Ministry of Education and the Île-de-France Regional Council on programmes for the aeronautical, airline and airport fields. A six-member management committee steers the centre, which holds the ProTarmac ethical, social and environmental label and supports the Airemploi initiative to bring more women into aerospace trades. It hosts open days, an aviation speed meeting with employers at Toussus-le-Noble and takes part in the Salon des Formations et Métiers Aéronautiques.
Shows
AFMAÉ appears in the exhibitor lists of France Air Expo 2027 and the Paris Air Show 2027.
