Aeropower Flight School

Aeropower Flight School is the helicopter training arm of the Aeropower group, headquartered at Redcliffe Aerodrome near Brisbane, Australia. The school trains private and commercial helicopter pilots at Redcliffe and at Camden Airport in New South Wales, and describes itself as serving the Australian and South East Asian rotary-wing industry.

Courses

• Commercial Pilot Licence (Helicopter): Diploma of Aviation, course code AVI50322, full-time or part-time, with new intakes every two weeks
• Private Pilot Licence (Helicopter), with new intakes every three weeks
• Night VFR rating
• Ratings and endorsements
• Flight reviews
• Trial introductory flights, starting with a 30-minute test flight

The school says commercial students train with working line pilots as instructors and with integrated virtual reality systems. The advanced course option allows all flying in the four-seat Robinson R44. VET Student Loans are available for eligible students on full-time and part-time courses.

Aeropower says it has used helicopters for about 30 years to patrol, inspect and maintain powerline infrastructure for electricity network owners. It has worked in Australia, Papua New Guinea, Hong Kong, China, New Zealand, South Africa, the United States and Israel, and reports more than 140,000 hours flown for utilities.
