About Airwork Aviation

Airwork Aviation is a flight school and aircraft service business in Queensland. It has trained pilots since 1986. The company says a team of about 30 flight instructors, aircraft engineers and mechanics supports its work. Its Caboolture base serves the Brisbane and Moreton Bay area.

Airwork offers training to become a commercial helicopter pilot or a commercial aeroplane pilot. Beginner flight training is delivered through Airwork Helicopters, a registered training organisation (RTO 30839). The company also offers a multi-engine instrument rating.

Students can apply for vocational study loans. Advanced flight training includes CASA approved flight reviews and endorsements for pilots who want to renew or improve their licence. A pilot for a day option gives people a 30 to 60 minute trial instructional flight in a helicopter or aeroplane.

Airwork also runs scenic flights and charters. Flights cover Moreton Bay, the Glasshouse Mountains, the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane, the Scenic Rim and the Lockyer Valley. Options include joy rides, airport transfers, winery tours and custom charter flights.

The servicing team handles routine services, maintenance, repairs, overhauls and inspections on rotary and fixed wing aircraft. The company says it is a trusted specialist on the Bell 47, Bell 206 and UH1H helicopters. Its engineers also have experience with Robinson, MD and Airbus AS350 aircraft.

Other work includes aircraft registrations, help with importing and exporting aircraft, interior and exterior refurbishment, and avionic installations and rebuilds. The company sells aircraft parts and accessories, including its own Bell 206 rotor tail blades.

The training fleet includes Robinson R44 and R22 helicopters, a Bell 47 and a Bell OH-58A Kiowa. The fixed wing fleet includes Cessna 172, Cessna 182 and Piper Seminole aircraft. A CASA approved FRASCA simulator is set up for Cessna and Piper training. The website also has a contact form for flight enquiries. Its operating hours are Monday to Friday from 8am to 4:30pm, and flights are pre booked only.
